ACFT TRAINING

The Army Combat Fitness Test will better connect fitness with combat readiness for all Soldiers.

The 50-minute test (about 37 minutes of work, 13 minutes of rest)  involves 6 events.


Soldiers’ test requirements will be based on their military occupational specialties or units, which will be classified in one of three categories, depending on how physically demanding

they are: “moderate,”  “significant,” or “heavy,

 

The minimum requirements for each category will be the following:


“Moderate”: Lifting 140 pounds; throwing the medicine ball 4.6 meters; completing 10 pushups; getting through the “spring, drag, carry” event within 3 minutes and 35 seconds; doing one leg tuck; and completing the 2-mile run within 21 minutes and 7 seconds.
 

“Significant”: Lifting 160 pounds; throwing the medicine ball 6.5 meters; doing 20 pushups; completing the “sprint, drag, carry” event within 2 minutes and 45 seconds; doing three leg tucks; and finishing the 2-mile run within 19 minutes.
 

“Heavy”: Lifting 180 pounds; throwing the medicine ball 8.5 meters; doing 30 pushups; completing the “sprint, drag, carry” event within 2 minutes and 9 seconds; doing five leg tucks; and running 2 miles within 18 minutes.

   3RM DEADLIFT

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

60-pound trap bar and plates

 

FIELD TEST

60 and 100 point scores: 140 pounds and 340 pounds

5 minutes-Deadlift the maximum weight possible three times.

STANDING POWER THROW (SPT)

Explosive power, balance and flexibility

 

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

10 pound medicine ball

 

FIELD TEST

60 and 100 point scores: four and 13 meters

3 minutes-Throw a 10-pound medicine ball backward and overhead for distance.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Kettlebells

 

FIELD TEST

60 and 100 point scores: 10 and 70 repetitions

2 minutes-Complete as many arm-extension push-ups as possible in two minutes

SPRINT DRAG CARRY (SDC)

FITNESS COMPONENTS

Agility, anaerobic endurance, muscular endurance, and muscular strength

 

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

2x40 pound kettlebells & 90 pound sled

 

FIELD TEST

60 and 100 point scores: 3:35 and 1:40 minutes

4 minutes-Conduct 5 x 50 meter shuttles for time - sprint, drag, lateral, carry and sprint

LEG TUCK (LTK)

FITNESS COMPONENTS

 Muscular strength, and endurance

 

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Climbing bar

 

FIELD TEST

60 and 100 point scores: 1 and 20 reps

2 minutes-Complete as many leg tucks as possible in two minutes; maintain a relative vertical posture while moving the hips and knees up and down without excessive swinging or kipping

2 MILE RUN (2MR)

FITNESS COMPONENTS

Aerobic endurance

 

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

2 mile run route on level surface

 

FIELD TEST

60 and 100 point scores: 21:00 and 12:45 minutes

21 minutes> Run two miles for time on a measured, generally flat outdoor course.
